What Being A Manager Is All About

Different Types of Managers

There are different levels and types of management. For example, at a large retail store, there is more than one manager. There are department managers, shift managers, customer service managers, assistant managers and managers. They each have a specific role, from scheduling and training to customer service and overseeing the overall operation of the company or store. They have to make sure employees are educated on the products sold and on company policy.  Although the customer service manager deals more with the public, either by email, over the phone or in person, all managers need to ensure that the customer is happy at the end of the day with their overall experience with the company.

And of course, there are the many perks that come with the position, such as more vacation and higher pay. I mean, who wouldn’t like to lay on the beach in Florida for a week longer and yes, have the money to do it. The higher the level of management, the higher the pay but also the responsibility and accountability.
